The Ministry of Finance will reconsider the approach to the regulation of the crypto market
The Ministry of Finance of Russia is considering the possibility of dividing cryptocurrencies into three main groups, based on their peculiarities of functioning, in order to simplify regulation of the digital asset market.
Deputy Minister of Finance Alexey Moiseev told RNS, that yesterday the RSPP hosted a panel discussion between the Ministry of Finance and business, at which interesting approaches to solving problems on the way to regulating CFA were found.
According to him, all cryptocurrencies can be divided into three main groups: technical tokens required for the system to function, virtual assets such as bitcoin, and digital financial assets such as ICOs. Adding that it will be enough for business to settle interactions with the first and third types.
This position of the Ministry of Finance confirms the opinion of Aleksey Moiseev regarding the legalization of payments. In July, he said that in Russia, the use of cryptocurrencies to pay for goods and services will always be prohibited, since all settlements should be made only in rubles..
Regulation of the cryptocurrency space is just starting, says strategist
